IT and Digitalization Manager at Växjö Municipality

Do you want to lead and develop Växjö Municipality's IT and digitalization department and ensure a robust, operational IT support for the entire municipal group?

Växjö Municipality is Kronoberg's largest employer, working every day, year-round, for our residents, businesses, and visitors. Together, we create a sustainable tomorrow and an attractive municipality to live, work, and thrive in – today and in the future. This means a job where we challenge ourselves to think innovatively, learn, and develop together. Do you want to be part of a larger context where you can truly make a difference? Welcome to us at Växjö Municipality!

We are looking for a confident and committed IT and digitalization manager with a clear leadership focus, who wants to ensure that the municipality's IT delivery works in everyday life – while also enabling continued development and digitalization of operations.

In this role, you have overall responsibility for leading, coordinating, and developing the IT and digitalization department so that it provides stable, secure, and purpose-driven IT support to the entire organization. Through close collaboration with the operations, you create conditions for digital solutions to genuinely support core missions, streamline workflows, and contribute to the municipality's long-term development.

At the same time, you drive the strategic shift from technology-driven IT to operations-driven digitalization and are a key person in realizing Växjö Municipality's digital vision.

About the position

The position is placed within the Service Administration, reporting to the head of the administration and is part of the management team where you are expected to contribute to the overall goal fulfillment of the administration. The IT and digitalization department consists of about 70 employees distributed across four units, each led by a unit manager. You are responsible for creating conditions for coordination, common solutions, and efficient workflows through a well-functioning IT support that meets the needs of the operations and enables the municipality's development.

The overall responsibility for digitalization at a strategic level lies with the group management. In the role of IT and digitalization manager, you contribute to the overarching digital work by closely collaborating with the head of administration, group management, and operations, translating strategic directions into governance, prioritization, and implementation within the IT area.

Växjö Municipality is facing the next step in its digital journey where you will play an important role in leading modernization within the IT area, developing common working methods, and contributing to the municipality's long-term development – within the framework of established governance and distribution of responsibilities.

Your leadership

You are a present and secure leader who thrives in leading change. With a holistic view, clarity, and communicative ability, you create trust, engagement, and a common direction. You see IT and digitalization as tools for operational development and have the ability to translate technological opportunities into concrete benefits for both residents and employees. Your leadership is characterized by humility, responsiveness, and a focus on results. You dare to make decisions, but do so with the ability to create consensus and engagement.

Your profile

You have the ability to create structure in a complex organization and thrive in a developing role within an organization with many stakeholders, where you contribute to coherence and coordination with your leadership and strategic IT skills.

You have:

  • A degree in IT, technology, business development, or equivalent.
  • Documented experience in leading operations through subordinate managers.
  • Several years of experience in leading larger IT or digitalization operations.
  • Experience in change management.
  • The ability to structure, prioritize, and manage in complex organizations.
  • A good understanding of strategic IT architecture and the importance of information security.
  • A strong ability to communicate and build trust throughout the organization.
  • The position requires security clearance according to the Security Protection Act.

Do you want to help shape Växjö's digital future?

We look forward to your application by March 8. In this recruitment, we are collaborating with Chefspoolen, for more information contact: Annchen Kull Tel: 0763 29 40 47 Email: [email protected]
